How long does it take to settle a claim?

Given the variables, the settlement of a personal injury claim in Ontario is often measured in years and not months. Some cases might be resolved relatively quickly, especially if liability. Fault is clear and injuries are relatively discrete with modest damages.

The length of time a case takes can vary significantly, simple cases where liability is admitted can be settled in around 12 months or so. Large, more complex, high value cases can take longer to reach a resolution.
